Wear your comfiest sweater or PJs, or your festive holiday flair, and enjoy a flurry of fun, including nostalgic retro music from the Saddle Shoe Sisters, an airbrush face painter, story time, crafts, snacks, and an exciting finale! Experience the diverse sounds and expressive qualities of Korean music and instruments! The Korean Performing Arts Institute of Chicago brings a range of traditional Korean music featuring the gayageum, daegeum, folk song (minyo), and janggu. Through the dialogue between strings, winds, voice, and percussion, this program highlights the Korean musical aesthetic of contrast and harmony, allowing the audience to experience the depth, vitality, and refined beauty of Korean traditional music.
